Merry Christmas and A Happy New Year!
The year 2013 is almost over. This was the year when I, Per, retired and started a new life – or thought I should. Because it did not changed very much. I read reports, was busy preparing lectures and was involved in new courses and developing other important courses at the master level. No time for writing those wonderful books I thought I could create when retired… But my work is so wonderful and my workmates are even better! This some of the adventures Helen and I undertook during the year.
First week in June, Helen and her children and grandchildren was at Cyprus. I was at home, reading master thesis’s, as usual. They had a nice time, and maybe I will go there too next time.
We had a nice and warm summer and spend many hours in the pool. It was about 25° all the time from July to 10th of September, well in beginning and end it was cooler, but not much. Water was bright and fine, no chloride smell and all technique worked perfectly. Almost every day I was swimming at least twice!
In beginning of October we went to Italy, stayed at a wine-yard at the top of one hill in Tuscany and spend a week exploring a part of wonderful Tuscany, visiting San Gimignano, Siena, Florens and Lucca. It was nice to show Helen one of the best parts of Italy! However, it was raining almost every day!
One week after the visit to Italy, Helen went to Turkey, to the south coast and spend a week there. She had won a journey there… In March we will go for a tour around Turkey, Kappadokien.
First week in December we went to Berlin, to Christmas markets and Berliner Philharmoniker. And also to some Christmas markets and glühwein.
Now we are preparing for Christmas, illuminating the house and eating too much food.
Helen and I will express the hope that Christmas will be good and happy, and that 2014 will be just as amazing as 2013!
